WordDrop Privacy Policy
Daily film-themed word puzzle
Effective 2026-09-13 · Application identifier com.altixcode.worddrop
The short version
WordDrop does not have accounts, does not ask who you are, and does not upload the files you work on. Your guesses, your streak, your statistics and your saved boards are stored on your device and are never uploaded. We cannot see how you are doing, and there is no leaderboard or account to sync them to.
Information we collect
We collect nothing ourselves: there is no account, no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting service in WordDrop, and we cannot see how you play. WordDrop does, however, show advertising, and the ad network it uses receives device information in order to serve an ad. What it receives is set out under “Advertising” below.
A single one-time purchase removes every advertisement permanently. There is no subscription, and after that purchase the advertising SDK is never initialised again on that device.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
- Advertising is supplied by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited). To request an ad, the Google Mobile Ads SDK sends your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device model, operating system version, coarse locale and app version to Google. It does not receive your puzzle progress, your statistics, or anything else the app stores.
- Where the GDPR, the UK GDPR or a comparable law applies, a Google-certified consent form (UMP) is shown before the first ad request and your choice is recorded on the device. Until you choose otherwise, ads are requested as non-personalised, which means they are selected from context rather than from a profile. You can reopen that form at any time from Settings. On iOS the system App Tracking Transparency prompt is also shown, and declining it is honoured.
- Ad content is limited to the general audience rating (AdMob's “G”), and the app is not configured for child-directed treatment because it is not directed to children.
Device permissions
- Notifications (optional) — Sending the one daily reminder you can switch on in Settings, at the time you choose. Declining it only turns that reminder off.
- Tracking (iOS, optional) — Asking whether the ads that keep the game free may be personalised. Declining changes nothing about the puzzle, and the one-time unlock removes advertising entirely.
Every permission is requested at the moment it is needed, and declining one only disables the specific feature that requires it.
When the app uses the network
- Once a day the app asks our puzzle server for that day's word so that every player worldwide gets the same one. The request carries no identifier and no account: it is the date and nothing else, and the answer is cached so the rest of the day is played offline. If the request fails, the app falls back to the word list built into the app and play continues.

- Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. To unlock your one-time purchase across reinstalls and devices, receipt validation is performed by RevenueCat, Inc. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app user identifier, your store receipt, and your country. It does not receive your name, email address, or any file you open in the app.
Data retention
Files you create stay in the app’s private storage area on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes them. Because we never receive your content, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf.
Data held by Google AdMob is retained under Google’s own policy, not ours. You can reset or clear the advertising identifier it uses from your device’s system settings at any time.
Children
WordDrop is not directed to children under 13, and because it collects no personal information, it does not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you. We hold no such data. For purchase records, contact Apple or Google, who are the merchants of record for your transaction. For data held by the ad network, use the consent controls in the app's Settings and Google's own privacy controls.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date before the change takes effect in a released version of the app.
